Your tattoo's size and complexity will determine how long it takes to heal. Larger tattoos always take longer to heal since your skin is under more stress from the intense penetration of the needle.
You'll leave the tattoo artist's studio with a bandage covering your tattoo. After a few hours, wash your hands completely, pat them dry with a paper towel, and then take off the bandage. Inquire with your artist specifically about how long you should wait.
When the bandage is removed, the tattoo may begin to leak fluid. This is additional ink, blood, and plasma. It's typical. You'll also have red and tender skin. To the touch, it could seem a little heated.
Wash the tattoo with warm water and fragrance-free soap while using clean hands.
A washcloth should not be used since it may contain bacteria. So that the tattoo can heal, don't remove the bandage.
By this time, your tattoo will look cloudier and less vibrant. Scabs will also start to form because your skin is mending.
Apply NÜ Tattoo Hydration Balm after washing your tattoo once or twice daily. You could see some ink dripping into the sink after washing, but this is just extra ink that has leaked through your skin.
It should start to get less red over time. Over the tattoo, you'll probably see some minor scabbing. Avoid picking at the scabs.
Keep cleaning your tattoo once or twice daily. After each wash, apply NÜ Tattoo Hydration Balm.
The scabs have now become firm and will start to flake off. Remember, they will come off naturally; do not pick at them or try to take them off. The ink may come out and create scars if you pick and tug on them.
Your skin can be really irritating right now. Apply NÜ Tattoo Hydration Balm gently several times each day to soothe itching.
You may develop an infection if your tattoo is still red and puffy at this point. Return to your artist or visit a physician.
Most of the large flakes will have disappeared by this point in the healing process, and the scabs should be disappearing. Although some dead skin may still be visible, it should ultimately disappear as well. The tattooed area could still appear lifeless and boring. Utilize NÜ Tattoo Hydration Balm to restore the appearance of hydrated skin.
The skin's surface should have healed by the second or third week. The lowest layers may not fully recover for three to four months. The tattoo should be as vibrant and vivid as the artist intended by the end of the third month.
